Sameera Effindi, an Architect by profession and an Artist by inclination, whose work is her means to self-realization. It’s her struggle to see and more importantly to “BE” within the explicit and implicit dichotomies of religion, society, motherhood, freedom, sanity and existence itself. Her work is her quest for the Lost Garden buried somewhere in the depth of her soul and hidden away under layers of various personas that an individual tends to adopt.

 

Her paintings are purely spontaneous having a particular ying-yang notion of being chaotic, yet portraying the opposite at the same time. It’s a journey of a quintessential woman, a story of her adaptation, a snapshot of the remnants of her being, and more so it’s a sneak peak into her thoughts, sensitivities and experiences; a re-discovery of herself at a subliminal level.
